Job Title:  Retail Sales and Service Associate

The Retail Sales and Service Associate will report to Store Owner / Manager

Job overview:   A retail sales and service associate (RSA) is a self-motivated individual who takes an active role in performing all aspects of the Avalon Pack and Ship Store plus Electronics.  The RSA will continuously refresh his or her knowledge and understanding of the requirements and procedures for selling and providing the products and service offerings of the store.

Responsibilities and duties of the retail sales and service associate include:

  • Greet each customer as they enter the store and ask if they need assistance.
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to voice and email messages in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the retail space in a clean and organized condition. Walk through the store frequently to make sure the merchandise is displayed properly, is free of dust and has the prices clearly marked.
  • Provide services as outlined in our menu of services including but not limited to; loading phone minute pins, activating phones, providing fax, scan, copy and document finishing services, packaging and shipping service, shredding service, renting mailboxes and other tasks as assigned.
  • Keep up to date on store promotions and sales goals; use suggestive selling and educate our customers about our products and services.
  • Seek ways to increase sales
  • Document transactions and orders by filling out the appropriate forms
  • Write notes of customer request items and items that need to be re-ordered, both retail merchandise and store supplies.
  • Stock incoming product shipments.
  • Monitor online sales channels, print, and fulfill online sales orders.
  • Deliver outgoing mail and pick-up incoming mail at the post office at 2:30 Monday through Friday and 12:30 on Saturday.
  • Handle all incoming mail and parcels for customers according to store policy
  • Clean and dust all equipment to maintain a good appearance and to keep it in good working order.
  • Follow all money handling procedures as outlined by store policy which can change from time to time.
  • Follow all policies and procedures as outlined by management and make the necessary adjustments as they may change from time to time.


  • Education; high school graduate plus additional education
  • Experience in retail sales and customer service
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills required
  • Above average to advanced understanding of mobile device operating systems and use
  • Graphic design skills and document finishing experience and skills are desired.
  • Punctuality - Arrive to work on time and prepared to start work at the assigned start time. 
  • Industriousness -Take a proactive roll in store operations; Doing outside work, school work, personal work or projects is not permitted while on the clock. 
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Notary public, fingerprinting, professional packaging certificates a plus. Company will provide training to achieve these certificates for the right candidate.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs. regularly, be mobile to move around to various stations in the store to perform physical, skilled and detailed work in a fast-paced environment.
